DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY1

I have a thing for Dreamcatchers, I love love love them. They are so beautiful with a bit of mystery. As I hinted at here and here, I have made a little dreamcatcher DIY. I decided to make a dreamcatcher necklace, and share with you the simple steps to making one. Here is my Dreamcatcher Necklace DIY Tutorial!

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY2

Supplies
Bracelet Bangle
Hemp
Beads (plastic, wood, metal, whatever!)
Feathers
Chain
Glue

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY3

-Cut a long piece of hemp string. And I mean looooong.
I cut mine unnecassarily long, just to be safe, and rolled it up in a little ball.

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY4

-Tie the end of hemp string to the bracelet bangle.

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY5

-Wrap the hemp string tightly all the way around the bangle bracelet.

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY6

-Once you have made it all the way around, tie a secure loop.

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY7

-Cut the excess string.

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY8

-I have seen so many dreamcatcher DIY's and never once have I seen someone properly do the inside.

-Tie the hemp string back on.

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY9

-Move a little bit along the hoop, Go over the hoop and when you pull the string through the other side, pull it over itself so it creates a loop.

-Have the outside be about 7 loops.

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY10

-As you continue make each new loop in the center of the previous round.

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY11

-As you go through this process, occasionally add beads, simply by putting them on before making another loop.

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY12

-When you get to the center tie a small knot to secure it.

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY13

-Tie three strands of hemp onto the lower half of the dream catcher.

-On each string put a few beads.

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY14

-Tie a feather to the string and secure with glue (Tacky, or Hot Glue work best)

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY15

-Push some beads over the knot and secure with glue.

-Put your chain through the top loop.

DreamcatcherNecklaceDIY16

-Wear your necklace, and know that all of you daydreams will be beautiful.

  4. Wow, you are crafty and very talented. I try but sometimes I have no patience .... I get tangled and well, just put thing on the side and always start over. I think I have an indie / boho inside me. I love anything related to them.
