The other morning I attended a Sunrise Yoga class at the Boston Harbor Hotel. The event was held by Andrea Metcalf and sponsored by Women's Forum and thinkThin Products. We had a peaceful and restorative yoga class overlooking the harbor at sunrise, then had a talk about thinkThin Products incredible bars and granola- jam packed with fiber and protein. The bars and granola were actually so good, and perfect for a nutritional breakfast on the go.
Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. Andrea stressed the importance of how it is really important to get a good start to the day… like a positive mantra, healthy breakfast and a bit of movement. I actually learned so much about nutrition that morning, Andrea shared the following information with us. Protein and fiber are essential in your breakfast (as well as throughout the day), (active) women need 60–80 grams of protein a day and 25 grams of fiber. Why is fiber and protein so essential? They help slow the blood sugar uptake in the body so 2 things happen: you’re less likely to snack often and less likely to crash from a sugar (carbohydrate) buzz.
Andrea Metcalf is such an inspiring woman, and for good reason with 30+ Years in the Health World she is so knowledgeable! Name sound familiar? She has been on the Today Show, Steve Harvey and Oprah.com.
The first and last photos are of me, shot by a fellow blogger, middle three are shot by me. All are edited by me.
This sounds like such a dream. It's always hard to get my butt up early enough to get to the early morning yoga classes, but whenever I do it is always a game-changer for how my day will go! Lovely photos
