My trip to Baxter State Park was wonderful. Five days of no internet and no cell reception. I hiked Mt. Katahdin (the tallest mountain in Maine), canoed and kayaked, enjoyed the sunset on the lake, and did smaller hikes as well. Cooked Breakfast and Dinner over a fire every morning and night, and packed a picnic for lunch. It was so nice to just be able to get away from everything for a few days and enjoy beautiful nature. I also think that you will notice that the photos are either close up detail shots of moss, flowers, berries, mushrooms and other plant life, or sweeping mountain views. It sort of shows how through the trip I became grounded, slowed down and noticed the details, while still enjoying it all and seeing the big picture. For me, life is better through the lens of a camera.
I saw three moose and was 10 ft away from one!
^Ben's charcoal from the fire covered hands (looks like mine when I draw with charcoal)^
^I don't like graham cracker, but I love chocolate and marshmallow, so I put cut up marshmallow, 70%^
ghirardelli in an ice cream cone, wrap in tinfoil and put on the fire for like 15 minutes. Campfire cones!
Chicken cooked on the fire, as well as a chopped veggies cooked in tin foil on the fire (hobo packet)!
^Halfway up Katahdin^
^See the trail to the left that then goes down the rock slide? Yeah I climbed up and down that.^
It is an actual rock slide, the rocks are loose and it is super steep. So difficult but so rewarding
^Cloud shadows are so incredible^
At the top of Maine!
I have two outfit posts highlighting my favorite outfits from the trip, coming soon, so be sure to check back or follow on Bloglovin'!
