Hello Everyone! If you follow me on Instagram, you probably noticed I've posted a few times about my Senior Project. I'm in my last year in the art program at my college, this year is when you come up with a senior project. I major in studio art and minor in photography. For my project, I've decided to make a brand. Something I've dabbled in before with my sewing and my Etsy shop, but this time more full fledged. I'm throwing my self into this project- and loving every minute of it.
I'm designing, creating (whether that means dyeing fabric, embossing velvet, sewing, crocheting, jewelry making, etc), and photographing my line. The goal is to have a line that is whimsical but sophisticated. Intricate and detailed yet minimalist. Bohemian and eclectic yet elegant. Calling to certain eras such as the 20's and the 70's, using exquisite textures, and unique designs. Another big focus- that is so very important to me- is on environmental impact. I am starting to shift towards using recycled fabrics, bolt end fabrics, reworked and reused fabrics, and processes that eliminate waste. Waste in the fashion industry is so high, and I aim to combat that in a small way with my line. These photos are from my first outfit, that I made, and so love! I made everything pictured (except of course, the shoes- although I do have some great shoe upcycles coming soon...). This black suede fringe skirt was a dream of mine, and I was so happy to see it come to life!
Moving forward, I am also going to be focusing on making this a full brand, so housewares will also be something I am making, and having a bigger shift to lifestyle- in photograph and product. (Think candles, dream catchers, pillows) Everything I make is available for purchase, so be sure to shoot me an email if you see something you are interested in! And as my project moves forward, a lot of it will be posted on my Etsy shop, so be sure to keep checking back! I also will be sharing a lot of DIY tutorials for different easy to make things such as marble mac book covers, and shoe upcycles! My final product for class will be a magazine style catalog! And of course I will be sharing it all here, so be sure to check back, and follow on Bloglovin', Etsy, and Instagram!
