NYFW 16; The Food

December 6, 2016

My favorite part of traveling? The food. As much as I love NYFW for all of it's other merits... the food when I am traveling is always the most exciting. And when traveling with my closest friend who is pretty much a german tan/brunette twin/version of myself, who has identical tastes, it makes eating out FUN. Everywhere we went, we got two dishes and split them 50/50. It is the best way to experience twice as much food. And the food scene in New York? ...MAJOR.

CLASSIC. Our first stop in the city was at Dough Donuts. The Flat Iron location, such a beautiful interior! Hibiscus Donut and a Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Donut. Major yum.

It isn't a post-wine for dinner wandering the city night without stumbling upon a 99 cent pizza joint. I normally plan, and obsess, and get meticulous when traveling, that I rarely just... go with the flow. And for some reason, this dollar slice of pizza was... liberating. And it is true- NY pizza is the best.

The Butchers Daughter is amazing, all Vegan and Vegetarian. Clara and I were in heaven. We shared an Avo toast (duh), a vegan bagel, and a mango smoothie. (we also saw Alexis Ren, which made us mildly star struck). Seriously, I recommend this place.

You can't be in within a mile radius of a Laduree and not stop in for a box of your favorites... and then realize they have Macaron Sorbet and get that too. and the Chiara Ferragni box? So fun.

I have been obsessed with Rolled Ice Cream ever since I first saw a video pop up on the internet. It was so fun! Such an interesting texture, and so yum.

Another go-with-the-flow moment was brunch at Epistrophy. I sort of feel as though it is a hidden gem, our plan was Jack's Wife Frieda, but the wait was an hour, so we wandered and stumbled upon Epistrophy- which was practically empty. Charming and so delicious. We split the croissant, the avo toast, and an lovely egg dish. And the freshly squeezed orange juice was soooo good. The decor to die for. Skip the busy basic places, and head here.

I love exploring and eating my way through new cities with my best friend.
