It's no secret that I love fall and that I love decorating. As much as I love a classic carved pumpkin, they are messy, they don't last, and don't work so well for indoor decor. I've got two great alternative pumpkin ideas to share with you! Fall Foliage Pumpkins and Gold Pumpkins. These are perfect for the whole fall season, and they work as wonderfully for Halloween as on a Thanksgiving table. Here are the step by step tutorials for both DIY's;
Fall Foliage and Leaf Pumpkin DIY;
(can be anything from colored foliage to green ferns)
Modge Podge (or other glue sealant)
What To Do;
-Before you begin practice arranging your leaves on the pumpkin.
-One you have an idea modge podge the pumpkin where you want one leaf to go.
-Press the leaf down and modge podge over the leaf.
-It can be hard to get the leaves to lay flat, keep going over them with modge podge and a paintbrush until they mold to the pumpkin.
-Repeat until desired leaf coverage is reached!
-Let them dry and display!
Gold Pumpkin DIY;
Flint Corn (optional)
Gold Spray Paint
What To Do;
-Outside or in a well ventilated space lay down newspaper or otherwise.
-Lay out the pumpkins and spray with the gold paint.
-Flip over and repeat on the other side.
-Let dry and display!
-I made these last Thanksgiving, I think they would be fun to do in all different metallic shades!
