DIY; Glass Bottle Necklace

March 23, 2013

And as mentioned here, is the DIY tutorial for a glass bottle necklace. Some DIY's are just prettier during the creation process than others, as this one is, so it's heavy on the pictures, here it is;

glassbottleDIY1

-You'll need little glass vials, I found mine in the scrapbooking section of Michaels

glassbottleDIY2

-You will also need Eye Hook Screws. These can be found anywhere from Michael's to Home Depot or any other craft supply store or home improvement store.

glassbottleDIY3

-I filled mine with all sorts of things. Every time I got to Sand Beach in Acadia Maine I collect the sand because it is so interesting! Every time I go to any beach I always get shells. Shells and Sand are so fun in the bottle necklaces

glassbottleDIY5

-fill the bottle with whatever you want

glassbottleDIY7

-Twist the eye hook screw into the cork

-and using a tiny bit of glue (tacky glue has worked best for me) place the cork in the jar.

glassbottleDIY11

-I also love using feathers

-Scrapbooking micro beads (remember when I used them for a caviar manicure here) are great too

glassbottleDIY19

-Just pour the microbeads into the bottle, using a funnel makes it go more smoothly (but I didn't have one hand)

glassbottleDIY20

-Glitter is also fun! Martha Stewart has the best glitter collection.

-After you've filled the bottles, screwed the corks in, and corked the bottles cut a piece of chain with wire cutters. Using pliers attach a jump ring and a clasp to the chains

A few days after I made these I had some extra vials and I made a few 'Messages in a Bottle', and a 'Drink Me' Alice in Wonderland one! I'm sure I'll be posting pictures of that soon! If you liked this DIY and want to see more, follow me on Bloglovin' Have a lovely week!

  15. Love these! I actually have some of the those little bottles already. They came with tiny seed beads in. I never thought of using them like this, but I'm definitely gonna have a go at making one of these necklaces.
